TERMINATING OR TRANSFERRING SERVICE

Moving can be a hectic time and we would like to help! If you are moving from one location to another in our service area, you can terminate service at your old address and commence service at your new address with one telephone call. A service representative will be sent to read the meters and shut the water off. We will need you to provide identification and your new service address.
If your account has a deposit, it will be transferred to your new account and you will receive a final bill on the old account indicating a balance due. Your old account must not be delinquent for services to be transferred. If you do not currently have a deposit, but do have a good credit history with the company, a deposit may not be required for your new address. If you are moving outside of the Marion Utility service area and have a deposit on account with the company, it will be credited towards your final bill. You will need to schedule a final meter reading and provide a forwarding address. This is important, as you are the customer of record and will be responsible for all usage until the utility has been notified of the change. |
