Deposit Guarantee

Water and Sewer service requires the completion of a written application and a cash minimum deposit of $60.00 per service. The utility shall have the right to reject an application for any valid reason.

A customer can sign the Credit Check Authorization on the Application form if they wish the utility to consider waiving the deposit requirement.  If a customer does not have good standing credit then the deposit must be paid:

The $120.00 deposit is due in full at the time of applying for service. If the customer cannot make the full payment then they may pay half ($60.00) and sign an agreement to pay the remaining $60.00 in  two weeks.  If the customer has special circumstances or a hardship that this agreement cannot be made, then they must speak to the Office Manager to make special arrangements.

A customers deposit will be applied to the account at the end of three years if a good payment record is maintained with the utility.  A good payment record is one whereby penalties are paid only once a year and a bill is not accumulated to two months or more.

A deposit is transferred to a new service address once the final bill from the prior address is paid. If the final bill is not paid, the service will be disconnected at the new address and the deposit will be applied to the outstanding bill.

If more than one name is on the deposit, the deposit remains with the person that has possession of the address of the original deposit.

A customer that has less than the required deposit of $60.00 for water and $60.00 for sewer and makes a request to transfer their service, change meter size or is delinquent on their account, will be required to make up the balance of the deposit on their service.  If the customer has an acceptable pay history with the Utility, with only
one penalty per year or less and their bill has not been 2 months passed due, then the original deposit may be transferred to the new location without the additional amount being collected.  No arrangements can be made after the bill is past the due date.
