27th & High St. Water Main

In the summer of 2011, Marion Utilities plans to start construction on approximately 450’ of new 6” water main in 27th St from Lincoln Blvd to High St. The purpose of this project is to interconnect existing 6” mains in the area thereby eliminating private water lines, a dead-end main, and improve service and fire protection.

This project is expected to cost approximately $50,000 and construction will last approximately 30 days. Water service will be interrupted while the contractor connects each house into the new water main. Home owners will be notified by the contractor before this interruption. Water service shutdown should not last more than 1 to 2 hours each.
