Terrace St. Water Main Replacement

In the summer of 2011, Marion Utilities plans to start construction on approximately 1,800 of new 8” water main in Terrace St from D St to Western Ave. The purpose of this project is to interconnect existing 6” mains in the area thereby eliminating dead-end mains, improving service and fire protection.

This project is expected to cost approximately $200,000 and construction will last approximately 2 months. Water service will be interrupted while the contractor connects each house into the new water main. Home owners will be notified by the contractor before this interruption. Water service shutdown should not last more than 1 to 2 hours each.
